Eidolon, the offline-first Home AI project developed by Reccom Network, reached its initial funding goal of €1,000 in just 90 minutes, and went on to surpass its first stretch goal at €3,000 within 20 hours of launching on Kickstarter.
This is a significant result for a system that is deliberately not designed for the mass market, due to the hardware requirements involved. That said, Eidolon also includes some features suitable for CPU-only PCs with as little as 4 GB of RAM, as well as for smartphones.
The project is primarily aimed at users who value control, privacy, and modularity in the local use of generative artificial intelligence.
With the first stretch goal already unlocked, the campaign is now aiming for the next milestone: €5,000, which will allow the introduction of optional, controlled web search tools, while preserving Eidolon’s offline-first architecture.
The campaign is still ongoing, and the project continues to grow organically, supported by a conscious and technically aware community.
